This project involves an old family house which has been neglected and abandoned for many years. Can it be brought back to life? Is it worth it?

The house is located on a beautiful rural site which has been in the same family since the original Spanish land grant. Family history tells of an earlier house which had burned and this one was built as a "temporary" house in 1855. The Civil War put an end to future plans. Although suffering from years of neglect, the house still maintains it's original floor plan.

After an intial site visit, the next item of work involves a complete documentation of existing conditions.

First of all does the house contain enough historic elements so that when complete, the house still maintains it's historic character?
