| These drawings and photos of the house above were done in 1936 as part of the Historic American Building Survey. They are located in the Library of Congress sytem. There can be very valuable when researching on old house. Compare the photo on the left to the one on the right. The additions to the left side (ca. late 19th century) were altered and now (2005) appear very different. They were either completely removed or remodeled in the early 50's! With this photo one could do a pretty good job of restoring the 19th century appearance of the first indoor kitchen and bathroom. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This photo shows a close up of the front porch. The decorative painting is surely original. The lines on the wall imitate stone blocks and the column is painted to look like marble. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Notice also the window surround, especially the top. This is "top of the line" construction! It represents the wealth of some of the early settlers to East Feliciana Parish. Unfortunately, much of it has been painted over, but it may be possible to remove those layers to the original. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
