Houses with Two Front Doors
The Louisiana Classic
One of the ways I think of old houses in Louisiana is by the number of front doors. The two front door model is absolutely the most ubiquitous! The floor plan of this house type is also typical, regardless of the size or age of the house.

These were built beginning in the 1770's as continued as late as the 1940's (160 years!) so they come in many sizes: big and small. Many have been altered and added on to, but they are still seen throughout the Louisiana landscape.

This type is seen all over rural south Louisiana.
This is an evolved symmetrical version.
