I have an old house can you help ?

Before you buy an old house I can look at it for you and assess it's condition. I can also tell you if I think its a good cantidate for restoration. I can meet you at your building and spend as much time as you like answering your questions.

Using my years of experience of looking at old houses, I can usually establish a "construction chronology" of your house - from the original period to it's current configuration. You may be surprised!

DOCUMENTATION

Photographic:

Using digital photgraphy, I can create a set of photos to use as a data base for your project which allows me to access the building in my office.

Measured Drawings:

Measured drawings are the base set of data required for my involvement. They are drawings of your building done to scale. I use a computor based format so I can tailor the drawings to the project. This also allows me to assist you "on-line" or over the phone.

After creating a set of measured drawings in the documentation phase, I can assist you in designing any upgrades, alterations or additions that you would like. Old and historic buildings are my specialty, not a sideline. My experience is worth a lot!

HISTORIC RESEARCH

After a full investigation and documentation of your old house (which I consider the "primary document"), I can provide further research by combining what you may have already collected (such as family history) with land and title information.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

I can assist you in the construction phase of your project by making periodic visits to your site. I was a contractor who specialized in historic buildings for 18 years. (Hands-on experience!)
